Rosie’s Love annual golf tournament benefits children and their families who are being treated at Albany Medical Center for childhood cancer and blood disorders. The tournament is held at Van Patten Golf Course in Clifton Park every July.

All proceeds from the tournament go directly to Rosie’s Love and allow our organization to continue to provide support to pediatric patients and their families.

This year’s tournament will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011. Don’t forget to register today!

Each year, Rosie’s Love holds a “Holiday Shop” where children can shop free of charge for gifts for their loved ones. Although they are unable to shop with the holiday crowds due to their weakened immune systems, they can still have the thrill of selecting and wrapping holiday gifts they’ve selected for their parents and siblings. To see the gift shop in action, watch this brief clip or read this short article.

Every fall, Rosie’s Love hosts a special retreat weekend for children and their families at the Double H Ranch’s A Hole in the Wall Camp in Lake Luzerne, NY.

Round Up weekends provide an opportunity for children and their families to get away from the grind, spend time with other families going through similar circumstances, but most importantly have some fun!

Rosie’s Love teams with Albany Medical Center staff and the Double H staff to provide a number of activities during the weekend including arts and crafts, late-night bonfires, hiking and fishing, high ropes activities, and discussion and support group activities.

Next year’s Round Up event will be held September 16-18, 2011, and is open to the families of any patient of the Melodies Center.

The Remembrance Retreat weekend is scheduled each September to honor the children we have lost, and to help all families who have lost a child grieve together. The retreat is held at the Double H Ranch which is located in Lake Luzerne, NY, in the beautiful Adirondacks – offering a perfect setting for families to be together and remember their beloved children.

The weekend includes a memorial service, as well as lots of activities and unstructured time for families to be together in whatever way they need to be. They can visit the animals in the barn, fish or boat on the lake, climb the rope course, use the indoor pool, go to the craft shack or just take a walk along the camp trails.

The 2011 Remembrance Retreat will be held September 23–25. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 24 at 3:00 at the ranch’s stage area. It will be followed by a butterfly release at the arboretum. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 4:30 in the dining hall, and all are invited to a turkey dinner at 5:30.

Families and friends are welcome to attend the entire weekend or the memorial service only. The chapel is also open all weekend for anyone who would like a silent moment of prayer. All families who have lost a child will be sent an invitation.
