You're the heart of Rosie's Love.

Rosie’s Love is funded almost 100 percent by donors, both individual and corporate, and is run by an unpaid staff completely committed to its ongoing success. This restricted fund is exclusively dedicated to helping the children and families served by the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center; with minimal overhead costs, nearly every dollar raised goes back to the patients and their families.1

Rosie’s Love is interested in working with any organization that would like to sponsor a current fundraiser in part or full, or to create another special event. Examples include “fun runs” or sponsoring a food collection activity.

Our current local sponsors, to whom we extend our sincere thanks, include:

  • Troy’s Landscaping Supply Co.
  • Kaiser’s Body Shop
  • Media Logic
  • Dunkin’ Donuts

Other Ways to Get Involved

We always appreciate the effort and ingenuity of individuals and groups who have given their time and effort to raise funds for Rosie’s Love. Here are a few examples of ways that groups have raised funds for us:

  • A local school sponsored an event where any child who wanted to wear a hat to school for that day was allowed to… at a cost of 50 cents. The money raised went to Rosie’s Love and was used to purchase needed items.
  • A Brownie troop donated Girl Scout cookies that were provided to families caring for children undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Rosie’s Love also used the cookies at a recent Hakuna Matata event.
  • Rosie’s Love distributed 128 backpacks to the children at the clinic in preparation for the new school year. The backpacks were filled with age-appropriate school supplies and were very well received. The back-to-school backpack project was a joint effort with Ronald McDonald House and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Rosie’s Love volunteers Georgia and Nikki VanVorst were the project coordinators. This was the fifth year Rosie’s Love has provided back to school items for the children.
  • Niskayuna’s Hillside School children created a quilt to give comfort to a family whose child was in need of a bone marrow transplant. The theme was “My Peaceful Place”. Each member of Mrs. Robitaille’s 1st grade class was asked to make a quilt square which described his/her own unique peaceful place. The squares were assembled into one large quilt. The quilt was then given to the afflicted child at Albany Medical Center prior to leaving for the bone marrow transplant.

If you’d like to create your own event or fundraiser, please email us.
