Since its inception in 2000, Rosie’s Love has been dedicated to providing emotional, practical and financial support to those who need help. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of those affected by childhood cancer, including patients and family members. We provide assistance where other sources fall short – from providing fun activities for children receiving in-patient treatment to family getaways that provide a much-needed break.
How we got started
Shortly after two-year-old Rosemary Frances Johnson passed away from neuroblastoma,
a childhood cancer, her parents (Greg Johnson and Patricia Heaton) and grandmother (Grandma Pat Hedgeman) decided they wanted to give something back for all the love
Rosie received while she was being treated for her illness. They cofounded the Rosie’s Love organization in her memory. The organization is named Rosie’s Love because of the
great love Rosie had for all of the children she met while she was a patient at Albany Medical Center.
